New York Jets rookie receiver Garrett Wilson is one of the NFL's two best wideouts in a very important aspect of the position.

NY Jets’ Garrett Wilson is a top-2 WR in the crucial category.
New York Jets rookie Garrett Wilson is enjoying an impressive start to his rookie season. Through four games, the 10th overall pick has 20 catches for 255 yards, two touchdowns, and 10 first downs.

When you dig deeper into Wilson’s analytics, it is revealed that he is playing even better than his production indicates.
Two different analytics writers – Pro Football Focus’s Timo Riske and ESPN’s Seth Walder – reported that Wilson ranks among the two best route-running wide receivers in the NFL, according to a pair of different metrics that aim to evaluate route-running performance.

Riske says Wilson leads the NFL in route success rate against “man single coverage” at 54%. That is well beyond the 30% league average for wide receivers.
Walder says Wilson ranks second among wide receivers in “expected yards per route run based on route profile”. With a mark of 1.84, he trails only Deebo Samuel, who Walder notes has an inflated mark due to his heavy dosage of screen passes.
These metrics certainly align with what we’ve seen on film from Wilson. He is winning his routes at an absurdly consistent rate. With savvy technique and outstanding explosiveness off his break step, Wilson is getting open at will.

It was well-known that Wilson had this kind of potential in the NFL – he was selected 10th overall for a reason – but few thought Wilson would explode this early in his career. Only four games in, he is already the Jets’ favorite target in the passing game.

Wilson’s meteoric rise is a pleasant surprise for the Jets. Thanks to his elite route-running ability, he is already a tremendous quarterback-elevating asset for Zach Wilson.

Children from Goryeb Children’s Hospital Surprised by Quinnen Williams and Solomon Thomas Will Serve as Honorary Captains at Jets-Dolphins Game.
The Jets and Atlantic Health System are continuing their fight against cancer with a focus on pediatric oncology as part of the NFL and American Cancer Society's "Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer" campaign. Through a series of events, the Jets and Atlantic Health System will increase awareness, provide comfort, and raise money for those that have been affected by cancer.

On Tuesday, September 27, the Jets Women's Organization, Atlantic Health System, and American Cancer Society hosted mothers and daughters whose lives have been touched by cancer for a Crucial Catch Relaxation event at MetLife Stadium. Over 25 attendees participated in activities focused on relaxation and mindfulness, including yoga, painting, massages, and manicures. Defensive players Quinnen Williams and Solomon Thomas surprised the group with an invite to attend the Jet's Crucial Catch game on Sunday, October 9 against the Miami Dolphins.

Additionally, on Tuesday, October 4, Quinnen Williams, who lost his mother to cancer, along with Solomon Thomas, visited Goryeb Children's Hospital to invite children who are undergoing or have completed treatment to attend the team's Crucial Catch game and serve as honorary captains. Each child will receive a custom Jets jersey, a shopping spree in the Jets Shop, and tickets to watch the game with their family from a suite.

Before kickoff at 1:00 p.m. on October 9, the honorary captains will be recognized on the video board during the coin toss. During the game, the Jets 50/50 Raffle will benefit Goryeb Children's Hospital. On game days, fans can purchase 50/50 raffle tickets three hours before kickoff through the end of the third quarter. One lucky fan will split the jackpot with Goryeb Children's Hospital.
