 While the reasons behind their spats have varied over the times, it's clear that there's no love lost between Kohli and Gambhir. 

 Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli, two of the most successful Indian cricketers of the ultramodern period, have had several on- field spats over the times. The two have been involved in multitudinous heated exchanges on the justice field, particularly during the Indian Premier League( IPL) matches. 

 Their first major altercation happed in 2013 during an IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders( KKR) and Royal contenders Bangalore( RCB). Kohli, who was leading RCB at the time, got into an argument with Gambhir, who was captaining KKR, after a fielding incident. The two had a heated exchange of words and indeed pushed each other before being separated by their teammates.

 After ten times of the incident, in a recent interview, Gambhir addressed the ignominious on- field wrangle, stating that he noway took it tête-à-tête. Gambhir conceded that he expects Kohli, just like himself, to be competitive on the field. As a leader, he believes that occasionally, particular connections take a backseat, and one must do what’s stylish for their platoon. “ MS Dhoni is a contender in his own way, Virat is a contender in his own way," Gambhir stated during an interview with Jatin Sapru on his Youtube channel. 

 In 2016, during an IPL match between KKR and RCB at the Eden auditoriums, also KKR commander Gambhir’s aggressive geste 

 was on full display during the match. Despite putting up a aggregate of 183 runs on the board, KKR lost the match by 9 lattices. In the 19th over, Gambhir, in a fit of rage, threw the ball towards thenon-striker’s end, where Kohli was standing after formerly completing the run. The incident led to an altercation between Gambhir and the officers. Kohli was the Player of the Match for his unbeaten 51- ball 75 in the match.
